If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.
I haven’t felt much like a runner lately. The few runs I’ve attempted have been beyond difficult. I really need something to get me past this slump. I have a 10K in May, but that’s six months away! I need something more immediate to push me, get me going, motivate me.
To that end, I am signing up for the Wolverine Resolution Run, a 4 mile race on December 31. I’m not at all a fan of running in the cold and let’s be real, New Year’s Eve in Michigan? Odds are, it’ll be freaking freezing. But, I need to do something to get me going again and I think this is just the thing I need. I’ve got a little over a month to train, so we shall see!
I was really excited last week to reach the end of my almond butter because I knew that meant one thing: OOIAJ! Hooray for overnight oats in a jar!
God bless the blogging world for cluing me into this amazing creation! There is a small part of me that tries to use up jars of nut butter as fast as I can, just so I can have some overnight oats. My jar contained:
- 1 or 2 tbsp of almond butter
- 6 oz vanilla Chobani
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
What a great, great way to start off a new work week! And, let’s be honest, I needed something extra special because getting back into the swing of things is rough. As was getting out of bed this morning. Mr. Snooze Button was my friend today. Well, more so than it is other days, anyhow.
How do you get yourself motivated for a new week?
