Once I got home from work, I decided that a homemade dinner > a run and Panera. Thanks to lunch meetings, I already had Panera twice last week, so I wasn’t really feeling it again. Plus, cooking at home is way better anyways! It’s (generally) more inexpensive, healthier, and I control what I eat.
I had a couple boxes of almost empty pasta, since apparently rather than finishing one before opening another, I just skip ahead to the new box! I’ve recently gotten into the habit of using Ball canning jars to store things like bulgar and quinoa, so I emptied all the boxes into one of those. A space saver and it looks fun!
I made some pasta and tomato basil sauce for dinner, and threw in some spinach for a little extra nutrition and deliciousness! Lately, I’ve been all about finding ways to spice up my normal meals, so this was just another attempt. I made a piece of garlic toast to go with it!
I had the rest of yesterday’s corn as a side. When I was growing up, we almost always had pasta and corn together, so the pair always reminds me of my childhood. Okay, so it was sometimes peas, but if I’m being honest, peas kind of gross me out. Not kind of. Completely. So, corn it is!
I was really glad I went with that route for dinner! I did pick up some breakfast for tomorrow while I was at Panera! I can’t resist their bagels! We got a lot done planning the bridal shower and I’m feeling much better about it, since it is only a couple weeks away.
Tonight is the season premiere I’ve been waiting for all summer: Glee! (Well, that and The Big Bang Theory!) They are my two “can’t miss” shows! I not-so-secretly want to be a member of New Directions!
